Spring Time Primer

Finally, the cold & snow have broke and the spring time fly fishing trout bite is on. Headed out the last week to do a little fly fishing for trout. A buddy of mine wanted go do some trout fishing so I took him to some Delayed Harvest water we went to last fall. It was starting to rain on that creek and all through the mountains, needless to say it kept most fisherman off the river. I know he was glad he didn't stay home.  Big Dave caught a brown trout weighted at least 7+ pounds, mind you this guy Dave is about 6'4" and 285 pounds, so his hand size is like a giant on that big old brown trout, hence the nick name BIG Dave. Nothing like a big hook jaw to make it better. Needless to say he was stoked for more fishing and so was I. We each caught a half dozen or so on the swelled creeks, but at last the water was too much for fish or fisherman and we called it a day, as did the trout.

I am already thinking about the places I want to fish this year. I have already started planning out trips, both local and a far. Some more wild streams I have found, and some smallmouth places for summer time float trips. I fished a good bit last year but haven't posted due to my work schedule, so here are some photos from last year, a little Spring Time Primer for your fishing Jones. If you haven't got spring fever yet...this should do it. Go wet a line.
